I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I just turned 29 or that the woman doing my eyebrow shaping this past week took one look at the ring on my finger, gave my brows a quick assessment and frantically said, “How long do we have?!” but needless to say, I’ve never been more motivated to get my face in check.Since I’ve had beauty on the brain, I decided to round up the products I’ve been buying over and over again – some since high school! It helped that I did a deep clean of my beauty cabinet before we moved and was able to pinpoint the real workhorses in there.
We’ll start with the hair and work our way down. If I could only use one hair product for the rest of my life it would be Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray, hands down. My sister’s first job post-cosmetology school was at an Oribe salon and walking into the brightly lit space filled with the aroma of Oribe was always such a treat to my senses. Their stuff smells so good. I use the texturizing spray for everyday styling and the thick dry finishing spray for those days/nights when I need a little extra hold without the sticky, crunchy mess that most hair sprays leave me with. My go-to shampoo and conditioner speak for themselves (and leave my scalp feeling really, really clean) and for those lazy days, Living Proof’s Dry Shampoo gives my locks new life.
I keep my makeup routine pretty minimal makeup during the week. I always start with a layer of this hydrating primer followed by this foundation (I prefer something that gives me full coverage and it fits the bill). Lately I’ve been topping my look off with few coats of this mascara and a swipe of my favorite matte lip crayon. “Contain Yourself” is the perfect orangish-red for summer! (Full disclosure: I haven’t actually repurchased this because I haven’t needed to, but I would in a heartbeat should this one go missing or I get to the bottom of the tube!)
I just started using RevitaBrow and while I can’t speak to it’s effectiveness just yet, this brow filler is going to be a lifesaver as I try to salvage my brows after years of over-waxing. I’ve been given strict orders to stay out of my designated “no pluck zone” no matter how hairy things get (literally). I decided to invest in a new pair of Tweezerman tweezers – the only tweezers, if you ask me. If you already own a pair that have dulled over time, you can send them in to be sharpened for free! My old tweezers were the “mini” version and I was looking for something a little bigger to give me more control and eliminate room for error once they start taking on better shape.
I usually reserve Sunday evenings for at home pampering. It’s such a nice way to wind down the weekend and helps to start the week off with a fresh slate! I start by removing any makeup with a wipe and then wash with my One Love Organics Cleanser. I don’t use my Clarisonic every night, but I really try to on Sundays for the extra exfoliation it provides. Next, I double up on the face masks starting with Origins Charcoal Mask and finishing with Tata Harper’s Resurfacing Mask. I’ve sang the praises of the charcoal mask before and it’s truly the best mask I’ve come across yet. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and my pores (especially on my nose) visibly clearer.
I follow that by using the pressing method to distribute Vintner’s Daughter Botanical Serum over my face and décolletage. I usually let that soak in for anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes before sealing it all in with this argan oil face butter from Josie Maran. Every night before crawling into bed you can find me swiping on several coats of Burt’s Bees chapstick. About once a month I’ll use Bioré pore strips to do a deep clean. Does anyone else find these oddly satisfying? There’s nothing better than when you can physically see a product working!
My feet have needed extra TLC this summer so I’ve been soaking them in a mix of warm water and epsom salt to sloth off dead skin cells. After that I’ve been slathering on my favorite hand cream which is heavy duty enough for my feet too!
Last but not least, the best eco-friendly water bottle. We all know by now how important it is to get enough water for a healthy complexion and having a bottle with me at all times ensures I get the proper amount each day. This isn’t something you will have to purchase more than once, unless you make the same mistake I did.
And there you have it! The best of the best in my beauty cabinet. What are some of your tried-and-true products?

So many of these are my favorite too! I love the Lancome lipstick crayon and anything One Love Organics! So good! xx
I love taking Epsom salt baths! Last time I made James go and pick some up for me while he was out and he was like “There are so many scents, which one do I get!” (spoiler: he got me the lavender ones)
I used this origin mask and Tata Harper, good stuff.

I swear I live by that Origins face mask! And I totally love the idea of having a Sunday spa night… I may start adapting that! 😉
I agree that I have/love 98% of this list 😍 love the Living Proof dry shampoo (I can’t ever go back to another dry shampoo) and I totes agree with you eyebrow lady! Letting my eyebrows grow out after years of over-plucking has been rough, but worth it! I’ve been working diligently with my eyebrow lady since October and my brow hairs have been trained to grow every five weeks. It can be done and it’s so rewarding to not have to pluck (or feel the need to pluck) every single week. You can do it! .. Jessika | beautybyjessika.com
