Unfortunately for us, long weekends definitely fall into the category of good things that must come to an end. Friday night set the tone for the days ahead and let’s just say, things escalated quickly. I squeezed in a few workouts at Health House, but nothing could possibly undo the damage that I did with my diet. Nothing. The jury is still out on whether or not it was worth it.
I’m looking forward to getting back into a healthy routine this week – lots of workouts, meals at home and more water than usual!
Saturday afternoon was spent working on a project at Loose Park and I found the silver lining to the torrential downpours we’ve been experiencing as of late. Everything in the garden was so green and so alive! 
We popped in Taco Republic for the first time on Saturday night…and then for a second time on Monday afternoon – shhh. I’ve never met a white queso I didn’t like, but the consistency of theirs offered up something special. Pair that with their Skinny margarita, which packed the perfect punch of tartness, and I was sold.
More rain didn’t stop us from grilling out with friends on Sunday afternoon. Ice cold Boulevard Wheat and my Converse sneakers both made appearances.
Yesterday Pete and I met our friends Whitney and Keith and we laid on the lawn at the Liberty Memorial. I was so happy to see blue skies after the washout leading up to it. Dare I say that it was even a little hot?
Just when I thought the weekend couldn’t possibly get any better, we made a stop by Glacé for a mouthwatering ice cream sandwich. After Thrillist named it one of The 33 Best Ice Cream Shops in America, I figured it was high time I see what all the hype was about. It probably goes without saying, but it won’t be my last visit.
A long weekend well spent, indeed. I’m feeling rejuvenated and ready to take on the (short) week ahead!

This weekend I worked away on Twin Stripe and did some out door landscaping. Not too exciting, but well worth it!

Glace has ice cream sandwiches?! I want! The highlight of our weekend was wine… wine tasting in Weston on Sunday and our monthly wine and cheese tasting at Cooper’s Hawk on Monday.
