Digging into all of your feedback from the reader survey has been incredibly encouraging – especially during a time where I’ve felt stretched to my limits in every which way. (Side note before we get started: If you haven’t given me your two cents yet, you can do so here!)
I’m incredibly thankful you embrace my openness and overall desire to share personal aspects of my life, whether those take shape in the form of sheer joy or unfathomable pain. I think we all know life is anything but perfect and it’s important to me that sentiment is reflected in this space.
I’m happy to report that the “Weekly Rounds” posts aren’t going anywhere. I’m really glad the majority of you like the posts because I truly enjoy putting them together each week!
One of you mentioned that you wish there was a way to be notified when I’ve responded to a comment you’ve left me on the blog and I think I’ve found a solution! You should get an email back from me when I respond to your comment from now on. If for some reason that isn’t happening, let me know and I’ll dig a little deeper to make sure the issue is resolved! I try my hardest to keep up with comments and I hate the thought of you not knowing when I’ve answered a question, etc.
There were a slew of you who would like to see more fitness/health/wellness posts. My overall wellness, which includes a hefty amount of working out, is extremely important to me (more on my weight loss story here) so I’ll be working to share more in that area in the coming months!
And then there were those of you who said, “post more often” and “more copy, please!” Thank you for making my whole week, seriously. These comments made me smile so big. I’m trying to get back to my 3x/week calendar, but my body doesn’t seem to run on anything less than 8 hours of sleep and I’ve been crashing hard lately.
I’ve also had several inquires on the wedding front and I’ve gotta be honest here, Pete and I haven’t figured out a thing when it comes to planning (aside from a very rough draft of a guest list we put together one Sunday afternoon). We aren’t in a huge rush and there have been some other big decisions we’ve been making behind the scenes that are going to take precedence, for now.
Lastly, so many of you don’t know when there’s a new post on the blog (or you check back by typing in the URL) and I wanted to share my favorite way to read the blogs I follow, which is Bloglovin’. It gives you a stream of new posts from the bloggers you follow and makes it easy because everything is in one place! But if you want to be absolutely certain you aren’t missing anything, sign up for email updates and you will get a quick note in your inbox each time a new post goes live.
What else? I signed up to run the Rock the Parkway half marathon this April (it will be my third time running this race!) and as a result, I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of running. My back still doesn’t seem up to par so I’m taking it a little easier and incorporating more classes than usual into my training routine.
Anything crazy, exciting or just crazy-exciting going on in your world?
Ekkkk! So happy to see this post from you Jess! We are here rooting for you and totally understand the crashing because your body DOES need those precious eight hours of sleep! Don’t let anyone tell you anything else!
The Adored Life
Thanks girlfriend 🙂 It sure does! I ran on 6 hours of sleep for three days straight a few weeks ago and I’ll never, ever do that again lol.
I love reading these newsy posts from you! It’s always fun to know more about the person behind the blogger. 🙂
I am looking to make fitness a big part of my life, and it’s something I’ve struggled with in the past. I always find it motivating to hear others’ fitness stories, things that work for them, etc. So, I look forward to reading more of your fitness related posts!
I’m so glad! I’m thrilled that you’re wanting to see more in this area and I’m definitely going to get back to sharing more about my fitness/wellness and how I stay sane 😉
i love you jess! and i love reading this blog 🙂 keep it up!!
I love you too Squiggly! haha. I appreciate your support more than you know 🙂
You go, Jess! I love reading your posts too (obvi) and it’s so hard to find a full-time work/personal life/blogging balance – I struggle with that! Sometimes I’m just way too exhausted or uninspired, but I think a reader survey is a great way to give me new motivation focus, so I need to check your out. Any advice if/when I do something similar (if that’s okay, of course!)? Hope to see you SOON! xo
I know you know the feeling all too well! By all means, use whatever questions you would like from the survey. 🙂 I pulled them from a slew of places and then incorporated a few things that I really wanted to know moving forward. My advice would be to keep it short and sweet because people don’t have a lot of time…and leave room for general feedback. I’ve really loved reading through those comments and it’s helping me to shape what I share in the coming months! Feel free to text or email me if you have any questions 🙂
YAY for signing up for the half marathon! I wish I could muster up the courage to do something like that! Can’t wait to follow along!
