Kansas City Fashion Week kicked off last Thursday with a meet and greet event at Standard Style on the Plaza. Before the show on Saturday night, I got a sneak peek at some of the dresses that would be coming down the runway at Ulta Beauty’s backstage event. Ulta was kind enough to provide the KCFW media and bloggers with some amazing swag bags. I can’t wait to try out some new products and give myself a fresh spring mani this week.

This was my very first experience at a fashion show and I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of ensembles that came down the runway that I could actually see myself wearing. I loved this printed jumpsuit from Koko Clemence.
If I had to choose a favorite of the night, it would be this beautiful gown from designer ByWhitney. My iPhone photo just doesn’t do it justice. She also created a gorgeous, sparkly backed number that literally wowed the crowd. Everything from her collection was so feminine and pretty, makes me wish I had a reason to wear one of them right now!
Project Runway star Laura Kathleen ended the night and this floor length gown was by far my favorite of hers. I also really enjoyed the cape she created for this line, but that doesn’t mean I’m ready to skip the spring wear.
