I want to start making small updates here and there to make it feel more like home and less like a garage sale waiting to happen. I figured the best place to start would be in the living room where we spend the most time (and where friends and family will see all of my efforts at work).
– First up, this DIY Gold Leaf Console Table. I can’t wait to ditch the jankity set up we have right now and create a classier space to host our electronics.- Hang a small gallery wall. I’m not sure what the walls of our apartment are made of, but I’m pretty sure it’s cement. A rearrange will be necessary in order to allow us to utilize one of the interior walls for this mission. Pete’s going to have his work cut out for him.- Our floors are stained cement (I wish they were hardwood) and we need a rug desperately. Not only will it add warmth visually, but it will make the winter season more enjoyable on our tootsies, too.
– I had my eye on this midcentury modern bar cart that Kelly sent over, but by the time I was finally ready to pull the trigger on it, it had been sold! Que the heartache. I can’t seem to find anything similar, so if you see something – send it my way.
Other small updates: refreshing our blanket collection, adding unique pillows and purchasing a few picture frames for updated photos.

i saw that same tutorial on the ikea desk and was thinking about doing it for our living room! i was worried it would not be able to hold enough accessories though like apple tv and speaker and the cords would be an eye sore (we have way too many media accessories haha). do you plan on adding to the desk? can’t wait to see!
I love that rug!! and I’ve been wanting to have a gallery wall too!

Updating is fun! Let me know if your walls really are concrete because I have learned (the hard way) some great tips for adding hardware to concrete walls.
Sounds like you have some great ideas planned. It will be gorgeous I’m sure.
That side table is so cute.

I’m itching to decorate a new space so I’m going to have to live vicariously through you until spring. Can’t wait to see your new space!
Love this! Ever since we moved this past summer, I have gone into crazy nesting mode. I am obsessed. It is such a slow process but I don’t want to buy stuff I don’t love just to replace it a few months later. I love that rug!! And I want the “Push for Champagne” for above my bar cart!

I’m 99% sure they are. Tell me your secrets!
I’m hoping that I can hide everything and still have space, but I won’t really know until I see it in person! We just have our tv and then my boyfriend has an xbox, which we also use to watch dvd’s. I’ll keep you posted for sure 🙂
I’ve been eyeing those prints for awhile! I also love that side table. These look like great options!
