Hi guys! Just wanted to pop in to share a few things with you all. Think of this as a condensed version of my usual Weekly Rounds posts as I haven’t spent a whole lot of time online (for pleasure, at least) this week and links are a whole lot lighter than normal.
First things first, Shopbop is having a huge sale through Saturday and it’s one of those rare occasions where you can purchase Stuart Weitzman boots at a discount (they’re 25% off with code STOCKUP18!). I really can’t say enough good things about them, but I’ve gone on and on about them here before so I’ll spare you – I’ve been wearing them for several years now! I have the 50/50 boots and they run true to size, fit like a glove, and hit just slightly above the knee, which I think is perfect for both day and night (other styles can be found here). Other great items to invest in: Vince platform sneakers (ordered these in a half size down and they are SO cute on. I’ll be the first to admit they look clunky on the site, but trust me on this one), Vince sneakers (These run narrow through the toe and a half size big all around, so keep that in mind! More from Vince here), carry-on luggage, a pair of classic Converse, leather Converse (more from Converse here), Gucci look-alike loafers, and a great pair of black distressed skinny jeans! Oh, and Shopbop has a really good book selection, too! Let me know if you pick up anything good from the sale 😉
Saturday I’m venturing to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore with Sarah and the REI team for a 6-mile hike and a brewery tour and knowing I’ve got that on the horizon has been getting me through! I’ve been dying to get outside for an adventure (as evidenced by my fall bucket list) and the weather is supposed to be absolute perfection.
Since I’ll be hiking and getting my hops fix on Saturday, I’m not going to make it to the inversion yoga workshop I planned to go to, but I just saw Studio Three is offering something similar (with one of my favorite instructors, Gina!) on Sunday and depending how my legs feel that morning I’m going to decide whether I can make it through a 90-minute hands on-class. Fingers crossed I’ll be feeling up for it because it sounds like just the thing I’ve been looking to do!
The few things I did read this week were really, really good:
I admire Hallie SO much for ripping the band-aid off and laying her reality out there. I’ve been working through some of the same and can relate to a lot of what she’s been through. All my love, friend.
Today is Grace’s birthday and her reflections and learnings thus far are so spot on with things I’ve felt, and even things I’ve been implementing in my own life over the past few months. Someone recently told me that I’m too nice when it comes to relationships (read: dating) so when she said, “It sounds like such a simple thing but I think sometimes I live in a fantasy world where I only see the good in people”…ya, that’s me. Thinking back to some of the things I let slide in the name of xyz…simply put, it’s not healthy. Her post also reminded me of a quote I read a few months back that I reference every so often, which says:
“Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation.”
So maybe expecting less out of people will one day leave me pleasantly surprised. Who knows? haha
Anywho, I’m rambling. That’s really all I’ve got! I hope you have the best weekend and I’ll catch you back here next week, sound good?
thank you so much Jess!
Hope you’re continuing the celebrations this weekend! 🙂
