Let me be a typical girl and start by saying, I can’t believe it’s already November! Time is flying. Several of you have asked how I’m doing on my list of 27 things, so I figure I’m about due for an update. If you’re just now following along, take a peek at this post!
1. Start a blog.
2. Run a 10k and three 5ks. I need to get on this ASAP. I’ve never done a winter run, but the Westport Santa Dash looks like a lot of fun! Who wants to join me?!
3. Learn how to braid my hair. I will have to enlist the help of my amazing sister who works at Skyline.
4. Make a point to keep in touch with my family out of state more often (call, text, Facebook, send letters, anything really…).5. Complete a photo-a-day challenge (in it’s entirety). Check out my Instagram for all the pics.
6. Go skiing at Snow Creek in Weston, MO. It’s about to get cold and that means the fake snow will be falling over at Snow Creek! I highly doubt the ski bibs I wore in high school will fit, so I may need to invest in a new pair before I hit the slopes.
7. Start using reusable grocery bags.
8. Volunteer my time. I’ve been thinking of ways that I can volunteer my time and I came across a tweet with information about Girls on the Run. I’m excited to get in contact with them to see how I can get involved!
9. Earn a raise (mama needs some new shoes!).10. Read more. So far I’ve read: Revenge Wears Prada, Banished: Surviving My Years in the Westboro Baptist Church and The Husbands Secret. I started The 4-Hour Work Week, but I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I’ll come back to it in a few months and try again. Which reminds me, it’s past due at the library. Oops. If anyone has some ideas for good reads, send them my way!
11. Grow a plant. I’m obsessed with terrariums. I’ve seen tons of unique containers you can house them in on Pinterest, I just need to pick one out! I also found a great article here to help get the job done. I’ll be sure to follow-up and let you know how it went.
12. Go on a mini vacation/weekend trip. I am so excited to get away next month I can hardly see straight. Trust me when I say, it’s much needed.
13. Lose the last 10lbs my body is holding onto because I can’t stop eating cheese and bread. I told you all about my weight loss here. But like I said, I’m still working on this every day!
14. Have a movie marathon with my Dad, with classics like The Breakfast Club.
15. Start meditating once a week, even if it’s for 15 minutes (hummmmm).
16. Go to the drive-in movie.
17. Save more money.
18. Go to a concert at Grinders. This will probably have to wait until the Spring, but I”m okay with that.
19. Run/walk/jog/elliptical my way through 1,000 miles. I’m only at 284 miles. I should be at about 320 miles. I’m SO behind.
20. Attend a trampoline class at Sky Zone in Kansas City and drag all of my friends along. Once again, any takers?!
21. Try a yoga class. I did a little research on some of the different yoga studios in my area. I’m excited to try out Kansas City Bikram Yoga.
22. Become CPR certified. I was looking into the classes through the Red Cross and they are expensive! I’m hoping I can find a free class at a community center or something similar.
23. Update the pictures in frames around my apartment. I picked out a few that I feel are picture frame worthy and I’m going to order them this week through Printstagram!
24. Get a skin cancer screening at the dermatologist.
25. Attend a First Fridays in downtown KC.
26. Make at least three of the many, many projects I’ve pinned on Pinterest. This weekend just might be the perfect time to make my terrarium.
27.Write a letter to myself to read next year at this time.
I hope you all have a terrific week!
I found your blog from the Kansas City Blogger Meetup page and oh my god, you’re adorable! I love this list. I tried to go to First Friday’s last week and couldn’t find parking, so I ended up 3 glasses of wine deep at Bar Louie downtown. Can’t really say that I’m upset. Can’t wait to creep around, oops I mean, browse around your blog!

Hi Jess! Loooove this idea π I’m turning 26 in May, so I have enough time to think about a list to make for myself – I’m really considering doing this, and I love how you can document it on a blog π I’ll be following your progress, you’re doing awesome! xx Michelle
