I am big on measuring things and not just when I’m baking. I measure out portions of things like peanut butter and cheese to make sure that my guesstimates aren’t going to cause a muffin top relapse. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve thought, “surely this is just a serving.” Girlfriend, that’s three servings. These little measuring cups would look cute sitting out, even when they aren’t being used.
I can’t believe I’m about to tell you all this, but….I don’t eat vegetables. At all. I just don’t like them, but I’ll save that tragic story for another time. My sister has a Vitamix and it’s amazing what she puts into that thing! I like the idea of the Vitamix because you aren’t losing nutrients from straining (those peels and skins are good for you, so I’ve heard). Eventually I would like to get one of my own so I can whip up a mixture in the morning. I would probably have to divvy it up into shot size portions, surely I can shoot greens.
My Fitbit is a huge motivator, espcially in the workplace. It’s terrifying how stagnant I become during the day. Damn you 8-4 (my version of the 9-5). I started making it a priority to stretch at work each day. I’ve even got it scheduled into my calendar to make sure it happens.
Do you have any tricks to getting your veggie intake for the day? What do you do to stay active in the office? I’m always open for hearing new ideas and I’ll try just about anything once!
p/s I’m thrilled to be featured in a series called “In Her Blogger Shoes” over on Ashley Ella Design today, go check it out!
I haven’t eaten as many vegetables this year as much either. I’m just going to be honest there. It’s because it takes a while to prep them and I’m so tired when I get home from school. My compromise has been to eat a lot of apples and bananas!

It happens! I think the shoes need to make their way into my closet asap!! π
I’ve heard that helps, but I’m afraid I may sit too low for my desk. I guess I could measure it and see! I definitely need to stroll around more often. It would probably be good for my mental health too.
Unfortunately I’m a picky eater in general and there aren’t a lot of food that I can hide veggies in!
I eat a ridiculous amount of bananas haha
Giiiirl, those sandals are so cute!!! Spring should come out from wherever it’s hiding already!
It really should!!
I grate or puree vegetables into almost everything to get my bf to eat more of them.
Grated carrots and zucchini go great with tomato sauce, pureed cauliflower adds a nice thick texture to mac-n-cheese.
Save yourself hundreds of dollars and get an immersion blender instead of a VitaMix. In my experience they work just as well and don’t take up half the space in your kitchen
Those are all really great ideas. I LOVE mac and cheese, so I will have to try that. I’ve never heard of an immersion blender, thanks for the tip!!
I keep hearing such great things about the fitbit’s! I want to get one. They sound like a great way to stay motivated!
You definitely should! It has been a real eye opener when it comes to moving around. I peeked around at your blog and I love it! I’m following along now on bloglovin’. Thanks for stopping by!
Yes the Fitbit is great! My mom got one as part of a diabetes education program and raved about it. I ended up buying a Fitbit-equivalent the Jawbone Up… but its functionality is very similar. I love it! It makes tracking my sleep & activity habits soooo easy
Where are those earrings from? They’re super cute. I’m obsessed with jewelry!!
I’m also LOVING these right now:
They are from Bauble Bar! The link is listed above, sorry! I should have tagged them as earrings instead π Those are fun, love the colors!
