2017 Favorites

Over the weekend, I took stock of the things that brought me the most joy in the last year and/or got the most use either in my closet or around my apartment. Below are the lucky seven that made my 2017 favorites list!best workout jacketMonica Vinader Bracelet (30% off all Monica Vinader here)  In full disclosure, this bracelet was gifted to me by the brand early last year and it quickly became a wardrobe staple. I wear it every single day, save for those one-off days when the only place I’m headed is to the gym. I think having a uniform of sorts when it comes to jewelry makes getting ready that much easier. The bracelet is super chic and incredibly versatile – you can dress it up or you can dress it down! If you’re wondering, this necklace from my 2016 favorites is also part of said uniform! I also love that the company offers personalization. I had mine engraved with a small “Z,” naturally.

Sunday Riley Good Genes – 2017 was the year I really started investing in my skin (better late than never, right?) and while price doesn’t always determine whether or not a product is going to be effective, I’ve found there’s definitely a correlation. I apply a thin layer of this lactic acid treatment after washing my face at night (before moisturizer) and wake up with firmer, smoother skin – almost like I had a facial the day before! I’m hoping with continued use it will help with discoloration, but I’ll have to report back after I’ve used it a bit longer.

Athleta Jacket – I picked out this jacket as part of a collaboration I did with Athleta last month and since getting it in the mail, there hasn’t been a day I haven’t worn it! I slip it on before heading to the gym and have been wearing it under my coat for an extra layer of warmth! I’ve been asked about it twice now in the elevator at my apartment and both women exclaimed the fit was incredibly flattering and I couldn’t agree more!

Fujifilm Instax Camera In the age of Instagram, there’s something to be said about photos in the flesh. Not to mention only getting one shot at making it a good one! This camera captured some of my favorite memories from the year and the collage of tiny prints covering my refrigerator are all reminders of the fun my friends bring to my life. My goal for 2018 is to always have extra film on deck! I failed miserably on NYE and was bummed not to have any snaps from the night.

Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray – I’ve lost count of how many bottles of this I’ve gone through, but safe to say it’s enough to add it to this list! In an effort to make little changes to  my diet to benefit my overall health, I set out to find something to replace the typical cooking spray I’d been using. Enter avocado oil spray from Chosen Foods, a company that was founded by a Naturopathic doctor! I use it to spray the pan for my eggs each morning and if (more like when) I’m making potatoes, I spray the pan and then top the sliced potatoes with this before popping them in the oven to bake!

Capri Blue Candle – You know that intoxicating smell you’re welcomed with when you walk into Anthropologie? This candle is it. Need I say more? It’s one of my absolute favorites to burn all year round now!

SongkickGuys, am I the last to know about this?! I was always wondering how some people seem to know about all the best concerts and my friend Kelly let me in on her secret. I’m now following a slew of my favorite artists in hopes that they’re scheduled to make a tour stop in Chicago this year.
