Summertime Madness

Before we know it, we’ll be settling into the thick of the summer – scorching temps and all.

summertime

On the upside, it gives us a legitimate excuse to indulge in an ice cold sweet treat. And you better believe I took full advantage on Thursday night. After all, a little kick start to the weekend never hurt anyone.

With the summer solstice taking place yesterday, it’s full steam ahead from here on out! I’m fully prepared to feel as though I blinked and it was over, but I’m also going to make an effort to unplug when I need it the most and focus on the present.

sunny ferris wheel rides

We’re spending the 4th of July at the lake with Pete’s family, following it up with my birthday (if anyone’s wondering, I’ll be 28 and not counting – shhhh!) and then a celebration for this blog’s 2nd anniversary. I’ve been working to put together a stellar giveaway (think BaubleBar, Shopbop, One Truffle & more) and I’m beyond excited to share it with you all! After that, I’m making a trip up to Chicago to see Sarah and explore the city. I’ve yet to visit during the summer months and word on the street says I’ve seriously been missing out.

wall dancing

Over the weekend we got our drink sweat on (there are no words) at Boulevardia. The Quixotic group had me mesmerized and ended up being the highlight of the day for me. This photo snapped by Brian Turner gives you a glimpse of the wall-dancers, up close and personal. So cool.
the human pyramid, a real classic

These are my friends and this human pyramid is reason #7,529 that I love them. We took a breather midday before heading back to the festival in the evening and naturally, we needed something to entertain ourselves. I won’t go into the logistics needed to get this shot, but it did result in laughing so hard my cheeks hurt and a near death experience when the left-hand side of the tower collapsed just seconds after this pic was taken.sweet summertime

I’m more than ready for what this summer has in store. Who’s with me?

  11. I’m so loving that summer is being embraced so much. It’s always been my favorite season… sundresses, big floppy hats, mountains of fresh produce and encouraged day-drinking… what more can a girl want?! I hope you give me the scoop on Chicago. I’m going for the first time in August for work for just a few days so I’ll need advice on how to make the most of it. Happy summer, enjoy your adventures!
