Hello, September

After spending Labor Day weekend at the lake, I think it’s safe to say that I met  surpassed my quota for the year. I’m a tad bit sunburnt and my body is feeling the effects of sleeping on a hideabed three nights in a row, but if you asked me if it was worth it, I would say yes 100 times over.
September followed suit and snuck up on me the same way that its counterparts did. I would like to think that life is going to slow down a bit, but one look at my planner and it’s clear that’s not in the cards this month. Even though it’s going to be a busy one, I’m looking forward to all of the exciting things that we have planned.I’ve added a few new items to my wardrobe recently and I’ve got my eye on a few others as well, but I’m holding out for those two precious little words: on sale.fall essentials

I’m super picky about my pants, people. I didn’t wear jeans until the 8th grade and practically lived in stirrups and Nike swooshy pants for years. The Gap 1969 legging jeans are the only jeans that I’ve found that fit me well, so I snatched them up in a few colors and after months without a wallet, I finally found the one. I ended up going with a shimmery gold and although it’s not the bold color I was planning on, I’m super pleased with my purchase.

I also picked up a pair of ankle boots from Target a few weeks back and while I was perusing the Labor Day Sales I came across a pair in Taupe that need to make their way into my closet, stat. I’ve been toying with the idea of going bold on lip color. I normally keep it pretty neutral, but I’ve seen more and more looks lately highlighting the lip with the rest of the makeup “barely there” and I’m in love. Plus, Elizabeth said it’s the red lipstick that looks good on everyone so I figure, why not!

    The 1969 legging jean is my Go To as well. They just fit like a glove and it makes it a no brainer purchase for me when they come out with new washes each season. I’m wearing a pair now!
