Holiday Party Outfit Ideas

I’m not entirely sure what day it feels like, I just know I’m looking forward to clocking out in a few short hours!
holiday party outfit ideasI’m planning a week-long trip back home to Kansas at Christmas so I decided to hang back in the city for Thanksgiving and I’m so happy I didn’t try to overextend myself. It can be a lot trying to make it to see everyone (I’ll literally be going from one end of the state to the other to make sure I get to all of my family and friends next month as I suffer from FOMO and haven’t quite mastered the switching off every other year thing…I come from a split family!). I’ll be filling the rest of the week/end with lots of blog work, a #planksgiving hi def class, dinner and drinks with friends, and some much needed downtime!

I can’t get enough of the Christmas trees going up around the city, they make me downright giddy! (This is my second favorite time of the year in Chicago). My calendar quickly started filling with holiday parties as soon as November hit and so far the highlight was the Waldorf Tree Lighting Ceremony. The entire night was so well done and gave me the little boost I needed to get this round up finished!

I don’t think it’s necessary to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe for the holiday season, but I do think it’s fun to give what you have a little refresh! All of these pieces can be mixed and matched with what you already own.

Before we dive into a few holiday party outfit ideas, I wanted to let you all know the big Shopbop sale of the season is happening right now! Basically, the more you spend, the more you save. Just use code MORE18 when you checkout. If you’re looking to make a major splurge on holiday heels, I can’t stop thinking about this pair. SO gorgeous. And don’t even get me started on these silver mules. Loeffler Randall can do no wrong in my eyes. Their gift guides are worth shopping, too. I loved looking through the team’s holiday picks!

I love the idea of this sheer bodysuit tucked into a plaid skirt with a pair of over-the-knee boots! If you’re looking for something a little more conservative, an over-sized sweater works too.

This peplum top would be so pretty with a pair of black skinny jeans (I have these and wear them every other day!) and a fun pair of heels! I’m really big on layering this time of year and like to wear a sheer turtleneck under a sleeveless dress matched with a festive crossbody bag.

It doesn’t get easier than a little black dress, a velvet clutch, and a fun pair of shimmery earrings. When it comes to other jewelry, I don’t stray too far from my favorites. I’m almost always wearing this gold bracelet and I’m dying for this diamond eternity ring to be mine – so timeless! Oh, and can someone please wear these hair bows so I can live vicariously through you? I seriously contemplated not chopping my hair off last weekend just so I could!

I can’t express just how thankful I am that you read my blog and follow along with me, it means so much. To kick off a few giveaways I have planned for the coming weeks, I’m going to send one of you some of my favorite products from bareMinerals to help you get ready for all of your festive fêtes! Just tell me what (or who!) you’re thankful for down in the comments, and make sure you’re following along with me on Instagram. I’ll choose a winner Monday night!

Whatever you’re up to these next few days, I hope it’s the best!

If you’re looking for more, my wish list is right this way. See you back here for a round up of the best of the best when it comes to Black Friday!

This year, I am so grateful for any amount of financial security that much of the world doesn’t have that allows me more freedom to pursue things I enjoy and am passionate about. Being grateful for that can often manifest in giving back to those who might not have the same opportunities!

I’m thankful for my health! Some health issues in my family have made me more grateful for my own physical and mental health this year. It’s easy to take our abilities to move, be active, and feel good for granted until we don’t have them anymore.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! xo
