Weekly Rounds Vol. 67

Happy spring solstice, friends! I got a little taste of what’s to come while I was back in Kansas City over the weekend and I must say, it’s truly incredible what a little sunshine on the skin can do for the soul. coffee and pastriesI had the best time catching up with friends and family and even made it a point to try out a few new-to-me spots while I was there! Monarch is the cutest little coffee shop in Westport with the most delicious pastries. coffee shopbrunch set upI had breakfast with my family at The Oliver on The Plaza before flying out Sunday morning and loved the rustic feel of the space and don’t even get me started on the bread basket. Let’s just say, it was much needed after Saturday night celebrations!brunch I also made it to the newest Health House location in Prairie Village for a sweat session and oh my god you guys, the electric rowers were so motivating! They track your distance, time rowing, and all that good stuff and then send you a recap after class. I don’t know how I’ll ever go back to anything else after that.

Weekly rounds usually come on Friday, but I’m switching things up a bit as I’ve been saving hoarding some of these links for quite some time now and am still working to get into the groove of my new routine.

Song of the week:  Heat – The Knocks (ft. Sam Nelson Harris – Wet Remix). Turn it up and listen as you browse this week’s links 🙂

AROUND THE WEB/WORLD:

  • I did a little closet purge a few weeks ago and tried on all of my regular rise jeans and…no way, no how. I never thought I’d be one to love the high-rise style, but I don’t know that I can ever go back to anything else! I’ve heard really great things about the Good American line and I love that they offer such a wide range of sizes. Have you tried them before?
  • I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, but I workout just as much for my mental health as I do my physical health. I listened to this Ted Talk on the brain-changing benefits of exercise on my morning walk to work a few Fridays ago and loved it.
  • Hannah Bronfman is my muse for all things fitness and skincare (girlfriend looks incredible) and I loved getting a peek into her AM/PM routine.
  • Speaking of skincare, I recently got a sample of this Sunday Riley moisturizer and couldn’t order the full size jar fast enough. I’m a firm believer in finding what works for you when it comes to skincare and Sunday Riley just does it for me. Remember when I was singing the praises of Good Genes? So good, guys!
  • I’m excited to add this acupressure mat to my wellness routine and will report back on what I think of it!
  • I had the opportunity to go to a bareMinerals event a few weeks ago and they sent me home with some of their new products and I’ve spent the past few weeks testing them out. I’ve been using their foundation and mineral veil powder since last summer and their new Gen Nude Blush (in “That Peach Tho” applied with this blush brush), this concealer, this lip gloss (in “Beautimus”) have since made their way into my everyday routine. The blush is the perfect peachy shade for spring!
  • I came across Big Fat Cookie on Instagram and lord have mercy! I need to get my hands on one of those, stat.
  • Behold….Kim Kardashian’s butt workout.

SHOP THE POST:

Whatever the week holds for you, I hope it’s great! I’ll be sharing in real-time over on Instagram and Twitter, so be sure you’re following along with me there.

See you back here with my spring bucket list oh-so soon, friends!

Once you try high rise jeans you can never go back to any other type. They are flattering on so many body types, and always look so cute with crop tops!
