Running My Second Half Marathon

Last weekend I ran my second half marathon and it was just as much fun as the first. There’s such an energy when you’re lining up at the starting line with a group of people who are there to push themselves to do better, just like you. I guess you could say I’m hooked.I’m thrilled that I beat my first half marathon time by clocking in at 2:11:01. I attribute my time to cooler temps (and way less humidity), but I’m still a little shocked since my training was less than stellar leading up to the race. Anywho, I’m done tootin’ my horn now!

Running My Second Half Marathon

I haven’t really had the urge to run this week. I went on one 3-miler and struggled through another two last night, but that was it. I won’t hesitate to say that I may be feeling a little burnt out on running at the moment. My next half won’t be until September when I run the Broadway Bridge Half Marathon, which leaves me plenty of time to relax and try out some new fitness classes!

On the agenda in the coming weeks: Bar Method (bikini booty, here I come!), Yoga and Bootcamp.

What’s your fitness mood at the moment?

p/s There are just a few more hours until the close of the Tulip Twist contest. I would love you forever (just kidding, I already will) if you stopped by their Facebook page and commented with the letter “F.” I hope you have an amazing holiday weekend filled with all of your favorite things!

I struggled with working out this week too… in fact, I have only worked out once so far… was supposed to last night and decided to watch the Hills instead lol! I am definitely planning on it today and tomorrow though, so that gets me up to 3 times this week πŸ˜‰ I think it is hard to not be so HARD on ourselves though, like I don’t want to beat myself up about it, but I also have goals in mind. I’ve never run a half marathon, but I’m sure when you are preparing to run it can be hard to not get down on yourself about sticking to a running schedule! I think if you already ran one, you got this one in the bag!

  2. You are awesome! That is such an accomplishment, and I don’t blame you for wanting to take a break. It’s good to take a breather once in a while so you don’t get burnt out. Let me know how you like Bar Method. I’ve been thinking about trying that, too. Have a great weekend!

  3. It’s been quite nice to take it easy this week. I’ve gone on a few jogs, but a lot of walking.

    P.S. I fully support yoga! πŸ™‚

  5. you and I are the same – I get sick of a workout if I do the same thing over and over again. Every week I try to mix it up – I’ll do a couple of different classes, run, use the elliptical or do weight training. That way I’m mixing it up throughout the week!

Congrats for running your second half marathon!! You are a champ – I ran a 5K once, hated it and swore I’d never do it again. BUT I am addicted to Barre classes as well and have been going to BarreAmped twice a week. It hurts but it works!

Ah, thank you sooooo much Maya! It was scary to share all of that, but it felt so good to get it off my chest! I’m still working on being healthy and treating my body right, but those damn donuts get in the way sometimes πŸ˜‰

I’m so thrilled that you put together the #RealBloggerBeauty Campaign. That takes major determination and shows your heart of gold πŸ™‚

Congratulations on running your second half! I’ve done three before: the first one was just for completion, and then I got really addicted to trying to get better times. Are you running any more this year?

Everyday seems like a constant struggle when it comes to fitness but once you start feeling stronger and seeing your body take on another shape.. It’s worth it. It’s awesome. It’s like all the sweat and soreness happened years ago.

I am so incredibly proud of you! I read your weight loss story and I love that you’re pushing through with health and fitness up to now. I share the same experience (though mine is just 20lbs of extra weight) so I understand what you’ve been through.

I will be going on a fun run (5KM yey!) next month and I simply cannot wait! πŸ™‚

You’re welcome. I go to your blog when I’m lacking inspiration at work! Thank you. =) I just finished with my workout, so I know what you mean. I was so sleepy when I started but now, I feel better and way more fulfilled that I’m done!

I’m so happy you said that about my layout! I did it myself–through lots of research for html (efficient ones, the shorter the better!) and google/pinterest searches! =)
