Spring Bucket List

Happy Thursday, friends! I don’t think it’s going to come as a big surprise to any of you that I failed miserably when it comes to my winter bucket listspring rosesAs in, I made it ice skating and that was it. I’m chalking it up to the fact that I’ve been getting into the swing of things at my new job and generally speaking, have had a lot going on. I’m okay with tabling the list for another time though, because at the end of the day, that’s life! (But really, am I ever going to make it to a Blackhawks game?!)rose floral arrangementWith that being said, I’m really excited to share my second spring bucket list with you all! I feel like I’m finally getting into a groove with my new routine and am looking forward to making more time for the things that fill me up in the coming weeks and months. I pulled some inspiration from my 101 in 1001 list and peppered in a few other fun things I can’t wait to experience!

Watch the Cubs play from the Wrigley Rooftops – My first (and only) Cubs game was spent in the bleachers on what I’m fairly certain was the coldest day in April to date and while it was a whole lot of fun, I’d much rather enjoy a game in the warm sunshine with an ice-cold 312 brew in one hand and a big bowl of bad-for-you nachos in the other!

Set up my hammock by the lake for an afternoon of reading – My sister and her boyfriend got me Bear Butt hammock for my birthday last year and I’m sad to report that I’ve yet to use it!  While I was back in home in Kansas City the weekend before last I caught some shut-eye in the hammock hanging in Whit and Keith’s backyard and it was so refreshing. I’m all about the little things!

Ride the ferris wheel at Navy Pier – I’m actually not big on amusement park rides or rollercoasters these days, not to mention navigating one of the most touristy spots in the city sounds like an anxiety attack waiting to happen, but for this quintessential Chicago activity, I’ll make an exception. I’m thinking a Rainbow Cone will be just the thing to cap it all off!

Try a few new-to-me restaurants – (Editor’s note: I realized after putting this little list together that these are all spots I’m hoping to enjoy a late breakfast/brunch at. Who needs lunch and dinner anyway?) I’m guilty of finding a favorite and sticking to it (creature of habit over here 🙋🏻‍♀️) and as a result, the note I created in my phone of restaurants I’d like to try in Chicago is out of control. I’ve got my heart stomach set on Mindy’s Hot Chocolate (fun fact: my first ever Tinder date took place at Mindy’s! The drinks were great and the dessert was out of this world, and if anyone is keeping track, I’m still single 😉 ). I can’t wait to indulge in a piping hot plate of pancakes at Wildberry (they’ve come highly recommended by so many!), a boozy brunch with bottomless mimosas at Nellcote, and last, but not least, a meal with a side of one of the best views in the city at The J. Parker.

Visit the Lincoln Park Farmers Market – I’ll be enlisting Sarah for this one, she just doesn’t know it yet! I’m hoping to make my way home with all the fixin’s for homemade salsa so we can get down to business in the kitchen. I can’t get enough spicy salsa lately and she’s the keeper of one of my favorite recipes!

Make an appointment with the eye doctor – This is longgg overdue and while the thought of getting glasses isn’t the most thrilling of experiences, being able to see clearly again is! I popped in Warby Parker the other day after getting one of their mailers and they have some really cute frames! The jury is still out on whether or not I’ll be a fan of actually wearing them.

Get a deep tissue massage – There’s only so much stretching and foam rolling a girl can do before it’s time to let the experts work their magic. I plan to treat myself after the Run Chi Town Half Marathon the first weekend in April!

This is all doable, right? I like to think so 🙂

What’s on your spring bucket list? Do tell!

p/s These photos are from a little spring get together Debi Lilly threw this week at DL Loft. The bouquet I made has my entire apartment smelling like a floral shop and there is truly nothing better!
