The Art Of Being Happy

the art of being happy

I push out a weekly newsletter to employees at my day job and one of the things I like to add is an inspiring quote. Sometimes I feel like I’m scrapping the bottom of the barrel and other times, I feel like I hit the inspiring quote jackpot.

I’m working on not rushing the weekdays just to get to the weekends where all the “fun” happens, but it’s easier said than done. Especially when there are certain aspects of the week that leave something to be desired. Mr. Beecher made me think about my week and how much I’ve come to love my little routine and all the common things that go on from day to day. BUT..that doesn’t mean I don’t want to shout T-G-I-F!

I’m looking forward to dinner with friends tonight and spending some time with my baby sis this weekend before she heads back to school. Can you say sleepoverrrr?!

Do you ever feel like you rush through the week just to get to the weekend?

One last thing, I have a short survey and I would love to get feedback from you guys on the blog front. It’s just 10 multiple choice questions (two minutes, tops) and I truly appreciate you making the time for it!

  1. This is the perfect quote! I remember not feeling truly happy with things in my early 20s, because I kept waiting for the next big thing or for my future plans to fall into place before I could be happy. I’ve come to realize, though, that it’s the little, seemingly ordinary things that I’ll look back on, years from now and smile. I agree with you that I’m often just waiting for the weekends. They go by too fast, though, so this quote is good to keep in mind so that I can also appreciate the “normal” weekdays:) Sounds like a fun weekend! Happy Friday!

  3. Now that I’m stuck at home, I look forward to just getting out of the house. When I was interning par-time and working part-time I couldn’t wait for the weekend! Going from quiet office to rowdy kids in the span of 10 minutes is a lot. I miss having a weekend to look forward to! Have a nice weekend! xo – Jessika http://www.jessclassy.com

AWWW! So jealous, I would love to be spending time with my lil sis this weekend. I’m looking forward to getting caught up on some things… blogging, organizing my closet, primping time, etc. It doesn’t sound overly fun right now, but I know I’ll feel great after a productive weekend!

I’m so glad. It’s tough to do, but it’s scary how fast time is going by and I can’t help but wonder if I’m the one making that happen. Hope you enjoyed the weekend and are enjoying THIS WEEK 😉
