Too Much of a Good Thing is Wonderful

Hey friends, happy Monday! How did the weekend treat you? For all of you east coast dwellers out there, did you survive Jonas without succumbing to cabin fever and going stir crazy?
treat yourself

We had a relatively low-key weekend. I finally caught one of Harper’s tennis matches and my youngest brother, Camden, had a sleepover with us on Friday night. Saturday we spent the day at the College Basketball Experience where I currently hold the record for most number of free throws in 60 seconds (and as a result, my arm feels like it could fall off today)! We refueled with pizza in Westport before dropping Cam off with my Dad and heading over to our friend’s later that night.

I’m a big proponent of treating yourself every once in a while (to me, from me, if you will) and there’s no better time to practice some self-love in the form of retail therapy than right now. A luxe pair of earrings, comfy pajamas and my favorite mimosa fragrance candle are at the top of my list, and I can’t recommend the bkr water bottleTRUFFLE pouch or this Louis Vuitton coin purse enough!

I’m not a huge fan of spending money on cards from the Hallmark section as I’d much rather whip something up myself, but for these cheeky Etsy Valentine’s Day cards, I’ll make an exception!

Not one to fight the crowds, Pete and I typically pick up a heart-shaped pizza, pop in a movie and indulge on the couch for Valentine’s Day. I love that it’s become our little tradition (5 years and counting!) and there aren’t any high expectations, which generally lead to being let down if things don’t go just as planned.

I’m hoping to round up my girlfriends for a little Galentine’s Day dinner this year, too! We tried to get something put together last year, but if my memory serves me right, we had to reschedule because of the weather and then life happened and we weren’t able to sync our schedules up a second time around – crazy how that happens, right?

Do you have anything fun planned for Valentine’s Day?

Ummm…..I want all these things. I think I’ll have to be my own valentine this year though, because I don’t think my boyfriend will take me seriously if I send him this link and request “All of it”. Haha!

I love the idea of a Galentines Dinner. I am in college and right now a big group of us are single so we were thinking about doing something along those lines to celebrate. I am right there with you, I avoid Hallmark but love finding cute cards on Etsy! It is always just so much better to support a small business and often the cards on Etsy are a lot cuter and more fun!
