Weekly Rounds Vol. 91

Happy Thursday, friends!Somerset Brunch in Chicago

I decided to do a little reset as my caffeine intake was out of control and I had become so dependent on it and it more or less wasn’t doing anything for me anymore, which is alarming, at best. So here I am, day 9 of 30 without it. 🙃

When I hit publish on my post last week I didn’t even mention that I was heading to see JOHN MAYER! I went to the Thursday night show with my friend Liz and he was INCREDIBLE. I basically cried my way through the second half of the show. His music has helped to shape so many of my memories and seeing him live was definitely a bucket list thing for me.

As for this week, I’ve been a little frazzled. I feel like I’ve spread myself a little too thin and am doing my best to keep everything in order so as not to drop any balls. It’s all good things (for the most part), so I can’t complain too much, but I’m looking forward to wrapping up a few projects and finding a better balance with everything.

I’m excited for yoga along the lakefront tonight, a workout at Ethos on Saturday morning, tackling some of the things on my to-do list, a fun event at Hampton Social with the Kodiak Cakes team on Saturday afternoon, catching up with my girlfriends that night, and then getting out to the playpen for a day of boating on Sunday! Wasn’t kidding when I said I’d sleep in the winter haha. I’m not about to let the last little bit of Summertime Chi slip through my fingertips though. Annnnd I wouldn’t be opposed to brunch at Somerset somewhere in there, because what’s one more thing on the weekend calendar. 😉

What are you going to be up to this weekend?!

I hope you enjoy this round-up of links!

Journaling prompt: Get really clear and honest with what you want for yourself. Write it out, and then repeat the practice monthly – it’s okay to have changing priorities/goals/whatever!

Song of the week: Mercy – GRiZ (ft. Valentina). Turn it up and listen as you browse. 🙂

  • I’m so SO appreciative you all choose to follow along with me day in and day out and I’m forever grateful for the opportunities that have come my way because of that. If you have a few minutes and would be willing to fill out a quick follower testimonial through Fohr, I’d be so thankful! It helps me work with brands I know and love (like Hinge 😉 ) Basically, they just want to know why you follow me! A HUGE thank you to those of you who have already left yours. Waking up to all of your kind remarks had me in tears this morning.
  • I just started listening to the e-book I Will Teach You To Be Rich on Audible and I’m loving it so far! I was first introduced to Ramit Sethi on the Girl’s Gotta Eat podcast and have been meaning to read the book, but Jess said she preferred this version so I thought I’d give it a try. Side note: I’ve been really terrible about reading lately (it’s the first thing to go when I spread myself too thin, which I hate, but it is what it is) and can’t remember the last book I read.
  • How cute is this Windy City tee from Alice and Wonder?! Going to be working on a giveaway on Instagram with my friend Ali who owns the shop, so if you aren’t already following along with me there, now’s the time!
  • The Sephora VIB sale is going on through the 27th and it’s a great time to restock your favorites!
  • The Ninety Cellars team sent me some of their Chicago Rosé and the labels are so pretty, I haven’t been able to bring myself to drink it!
  • These wide leg crop pants from Madewell are wayyy outside of my comfort zone and I’m not sure I’m cool enough to wear them, but I keep coming back.
  • I always get questions on Instagram about my green midi dress from Faithful the Brand (most likely because if I’m not wearing the navy polka dot dress, I’m living in this) and it’s long been sold out, but this blue number is similar in style and super cute!
  • I did a terrible, terrible thing and wore my favorite Frye white leather sneakers to Lolla (rookie mistake, I know) and it just so happened I wore them to the dirtiest show of the entire weekend. Needless to say, they’re looking a little worse for wear. I think I permanently stained the soles of them. Thinking I’ll keep these for future events like that and have a “nice” pair that I don’t gallivant around in.
  • I polled you all on Instagram this week asking for backpack recs and you came through in a big way! And I now have decision fatigue (story of my life). But of course, my favorite is the most expensive of the bunch. How perfect is this backpack from Tumi?! I’d get it in black, obviously.
  • As usual, don’t forget to check out the sale section on Shopbop! It takes a little digging, but I’ve found so many great investment pieces there.

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now. I hope the rest of your week is great and that you make the most of the weekend ahead, whatever you’re up to! I’m always sharing in real-time over on Instagram stories, so be sure to follow along there.
