Weekly Rounds, Vol. 95

Friday, we made it! It’s been a pretty decent week over here and I’ve got a good mix of weekend plans ahead of me, starting with the Galantis show tonight!

boyfriend jeans under $100 and the best white tennis shoes | Weekly Rounds Vol 95

Aside from that, I’m going to get myself to a spin class, a yoga class or two, and if the wind isn’t crazy, a long run along the lake since it’s supposed to warm up some.

Don’t forget we spring forward on Sunday! I know it’s always an adjustment when we lose an hour of sleep for DST, but I’m beyond excited for the extra daylight we’ll get in return!

Weekly Rounds, Vol 95

If you’re looking for something festive and fun to do this weekend or for the St. Patrick’s holiday, the Charm’d pop-up bar in Wrigley is open! I went with a group of friends last weekend and it’s too fun. I always say these pop-ups are over-the-top, kinda like me 😉 which is probably why I love them so much…really in my element haha.

Anywho, I hope you enjoy this round-up of links and find something you love!

Journaling prompt:

What do I need most right now? Mental, physical, emotional, spiritual…let your mind wander to the things your body is craving. Is there anything in that list you can provide for yourself?

Song of the week:

LA & the Parties – Lost Kings (ft. Sevyn Streeter and Luh Kel) – you guys loved this on Insta stories!! Turn it up and listen as you browse. 🙂

Hinge is celebrating National Day of Unplugging and they’re giving away $100 to those who participate! Do you use the app? I’d love to know down in the comments! And if you don’t use Hinge, do you use Bumble? Something else? Tell me everything! You can read my quick tips for dating apps here and some of my favorite date spots in Chicago here! More on dating in an article I shared below, too. And you can always search the word on my site to find all the posts where I’ve touched on the topic.

I have this mini dress in two colors (black and red!) and saw that the black is 25% off right now.

My “perfect summer jeans” from Madewell and white leather sneakers (picture above) are on constant repeat and there’s a ton of good stuff in the Shopbop sale section. And you can see the rest of my picks here! A note on the jeans: since they’re 100% cotton, they definitely stretch out with wear. I’d size down one or two sizes! They’re super comfortable and I love throwing them on with my Windy City tee and a pair of tennis shoes to run errands!

Finally tried a pair of the AGOLDE vintage cut-off shorts and the hype is real, guys.

Finding a flattering pair of jean shorts is like mission impossible and I love the fit of these (I sized down and they’re a little snug, but again, since I know the material will loosen a bit with wear I didn’t want to end up swimming in them).

If your hands are anything like mine from washing right now, order this Kiehl’s hand salve immediately! I’ve been using it for years and nothing compares (I even got one of my guy friends hooked on it (it comes in a smaller bottle here).

Remember the clear crossbody bag I carried non-stop last summer? It’s back! I can’t tell you the number of people who stopped me on the street, at shows, etc. to ask about it. Love these bag straps and pretty much all of these from Clare V. – super easy way to change up the look.

If you’re local to Chicago, Real Good Stuff (formerly Read Good Juice) does a special where you get a $1 cold brew with any purchase! I love my liquids and this is just a really great deal if you’re near one of their locations.

If you’re dating and you use Instagram, this is a must read:

“But we’ve all felt the peril of conflicting social activity. Of thinking a follow or a like means something and then having it mean nothing at all? Or maybe it would in time?”

I ordered Maybe You Should Talk to Someone and can’t wait to dive into it!

Loved Blair’s transparency in the post she put together outlining exactly how much she made from her blog last month. Looking forward to more of this type of content from  her!

I started taking the Garden of Life iron supplement because I found out I have anemia and there is a direct correlation between extreme fatigue and the condition, which basically means my cells aren’t getting the oxygen they need and without that, things inside my body won’t work right. I was worried they’d upset my stomach, but so far, so good!

The Shopbop @ Home collection has some really great things and I’m always stalking the Shopbop sale to see if any of my favorite designers have been marked down! (that’s how I scored my Staud bag and Loeffler Randall pieces in the past) And I always make sure to keep up with Madewell, APL, Eberjey, and SunnyLife in the summer!

SHOP THE POST:

Alright, that’s all I’ve got for you today. I hope your weekend is great, however you’re spending it! I’m always sharing in real-time over on Instagram stories, so be sure to follow along there.

I’ve used both Hinge and Bumble and although both have pros and cons, I much rather prefer Hinge for it’s fun and unique format, wider set of filters, and (I personally think) higher quality of men. Not HAVING to make the first move is also a big pro for me!

I agree!! I use Hinge more than Bumble, but have been on dates from both of the apps 🙂 If you have any specific dating type content you’d like to see, let me know!

Yes! II think would be interested in hearing your thoughts on quantity vs. quality in regards to dates, and along the same lines whether filters are a good tool, or something that limits our possibilities and closes us off to a “perfect, pre-generated” person?!
