What To Wear For The Holidays

Bows on my toes and in my hair, please! I can’t get enough of the dainty detail donning everything from shoes to dresses to hair pieces right now. velvet holiday dressHoliday outfit ideas

It felt like it might be too early to be putting together a round-up on what to wear for the holidays and then I realized Thanksgiving is next week and as we all know, holiday party season kicks off after that! You all are going to invite me to your parties so I have an excuse to wear all of these pretty things, right? 😉

Over the weekend I visited DL Loft for the first time for a holiday shoot and I was blown away by everything Debi created. From the balloon wall to the decadent spread of festive treats to the “Cuddle In a Cup” bar, she pulled out all the stops.

I wore this velvet drop waist dress with this top layered underneath (coming soon to Alice & Wonder if you’re looking to shop small this season!) and a pair of ribbon heels from last year. You could get the same look with these embellished heels, which I love (they actually remind me of a pair Kate Spade put out a few years ago, but at a much better price!), and don’t even get me started on the flats – get in my closet.

Naturally, getting all dressed up got me thinking about the other outfits I want to bring to life as we move through the next few weeks and into the new year.

I love the idea of pairing an oversized sweater with a skirt that moves and a pair of bow heels (Side note: I’ve been pleasantly surprised by some of the pieces at Talbots recently). You can always dress the sweater down a bit with a pair of skinny jeans and tweed flats and still look really put together!

This silver pleated dress with a sheer top underneath would be gorgeous. Oh, and this Kate Spade dress? A girl can dream.

I may or may not be having a velvet drop-waist moment after picking out this LBD – you tell me!

Lastly, a little red dress, gold clutch, and chandelier earrings to match (just add tights depending on the weather!)

If there’s one thing in this round-up that I’m dying to get my hands on, it would be this rose gold crossbody bag which would go with so much! I know I’ve shared my gold bracelet before, but I really can’t recommend it more. It’s super versatile and has become an everyday staple in my wardrobe!the best black heelsSo, how are we feeling? Holiday ready? It snowed here in Chicago last week and it got me excited to see the city all dressed up in twinkle lights and festive decor.

One last thing, the Sephora VIB sale runs through tomorrow and I rounded up the best of the best for you which means two things: you can get a head start on your holiday gifting and/or you can treat yourself in the name of self-care or the desire to try out some new make-up for those festive fetes we were talking about! And if you’re not sure what to do with your hair, take a look at the holiday hair tutorials I’ve updated over in the side bar.

I hope you have a great Tuesday!

Ah, so jealous! It’s about to be tights from here on out up in Chicago and I would much prefer to wear these things without them 😉
