Spring Workout Wear + Thoughts On Insta Stories

Hi hi! Happy Thursday. And hello from the my little hiatus here! One of the things that really trips me up about Instagram stories is that I post so often there and am constantly sharing updates on life and various other things that I lose track of what I’ve actually, you know, blogged about. what to wear to workoutI’d really like to break that habit I slipped into (I don’t mean stop posting to stories, because I absolutely love sharing there), but maybe using my archives on the app as a reminder of what I’d like to go into more detail about and catch you all up on here so all those fun findings have a more permanent place to live. Hopefully that makes sense!

I’ve been adding new workout pieces to my arsenal and am excited to share some of my new finds with you!

First things first, this workout dress. I’m just obsessed. It’s no big secret I live for a good skort, but the fact that I can throw on one piece and be out the door is a total game changer. It’s super flattering and a really easy piece (if you don’t count having to get totally undressed when using the restroom 🙃).

I got these chevron workout tights from Tory Burch’s sport line during the last Shopbop sale and they’re really, really soft. Admittedly, they’re not made of the moisture-wicking material that helps to prevent sweat stains (almost all of my other workout tights are), so I’ve just been wearing them to classes where I know I’m not going to be dripping by the time I leave (ahem, Ethos and Shred).

If you took a peek into my closet, you’d find a stack of all black workout tights. Boring or brilliant? These camo workout tights would be a good foray into the world of color for me because they’re so dark haha. I’ve yet to try out the Alo Yoga, but know a few gals who swear by their stuff!

And how cute are these star tights?! Still black though. 😜 These could also launch me into another new territory, prints!

I know some of you aren’t as tall as I am (I’m 5’7″) and have sent messages before saying regular fit and even some 7/8 tights are just too long. I think checking out the workout capris and crops here will be your best bet!

I think this tie-front knot bra is the cutest and would be great for the low impact workouts I do, like pilates, yoga, and deep stretch! It comes in even more colors here.

I love the fit of the neck on this workout tank and get a lot of wear out of it. A super simple (essential) staple! Really like the look of this tank too, and the deeper cut for the arm holes.

I’ve had this Nike sports bra for several years now (since January 14, 2017, to be exact haha) and have worn and washed it more times than I can count and it’s still going strong!

Okay, so I’ve always had this thing about the way my socks fit and because of that, I’ve steered clear of compression socks because I figured my feet would feel claustrophobic (lol, I wish I was kidding, but I’m not). I can’t remember how I acquired my pair of Bombas socks. I’m thinking a goodie bag from an event from eons ago? I was forced to finally put them on (and tackle a literal mountain of laundry) one morning and now they’re all I want to wear. Unfortunately, mine are a less-than-flattering bright purple color, but I’m looking forward to giving my sock drawer a little refresh since my cheapies are giving out (and forever going missing…how this happens is beyond me).

I always get questions about my training shoes whenever I’m wearing them on stories. I have them in…you guessed it, black! If you’re into color, this coral pair is a pretty poppy pink.

My white ball cap needs to be thrown out, like yesterday. I’m planning to replace it with a white Polo ball cap for runs outside and protecting my face from the sun when I’m out and about this spring and summer.

I have two yoga mats. One that is a little more heavy-duty and doesn’t leave my apartment because it doesn’t have a strap to tote it, and another that’s lighter and easy to carry. The latter is quickly falling apart on me and is starting to feel gross even after washing. I’ve heard great things about the quality of this one!

Lastly, this jacket didn’t make the round-up, but I saw it when I popped into J. Crew last week and even though it’s technically a raincoat, it would be great to wear to and from workouts during the in between months. I’m weird about what I wear post-sweat and since this is meant to repel water, I think it works!

Are you big on color when it comes to what you wear to workout in? Or am I just crazy? (maybe don’t answer that last part). Any new workouts you’ve been into lately?

+1 to the Bombas endorsement. And it’s easier for me to justify the price because they donate a pair for each one you buy!

Oh, I didn’t know that! That is so great 👏🏼 definitely helps with the price (and I can tell they’re going to hold up a whole lot longer than the ones I picked up from Old Navy on a whim).
