Fall Bucket List

For obvious reasons, I try to make the most of fall here in Chicago! It’s rather short-lived and if you’re not careful, you’ll blink and miss it all together. I like to keep a notes page on my phone for bucket list items or things I’ve done in the past and hope to do again, and you’ll find a mix of that below!

Go on a woodsy weekend trip – I’m excited to be heading to a lodge in Michigan City with a few of my girlfriends in November and really hope there will still be some fall foliage left while we’re there.

Roast marshmallows around a fire pit for s’mores

Bake Ambitious Kitchen’s cinnamon rolls one Sunday morning

Leaf peep! – I absolutely love watching the leaves change colors this time of year and it doesn’t get much better than the Lincoln Park Nature Trail and if you catch them in time, the trees that line Millennium Park…they turn quick!

fall bucket list

Make a grilled cheese sandwich and soup for a cozy WFH lunch

Lots of lounging, reading, and relaxing

Crisp morning walks along the lake with a Not a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand. The BEST. (you can see it in this round-up on Instagram)

Eat apple cider donuts – When my sister came to visit we went to Dinkel’s and I finally got to try theirs and it did not disappoint! Also high on my list is the apple cider donut from Beacon Doughnuts in the alleyway off Armitage in Lincoln Park.

Sip hot toddies for a Kansas City Chiefs game

Celebrate Friendsgiving with a mix of non-traditional foods

Go to Park & Field for mac & cheese in a mug and bottles of wine with friends

Last year I went out to Starved Rock State Park with a few friends for a day of exploring and even though it ended up being unseasonably warm, it was beautiful! I’m not going to make it out there in 2021, but if you’re looking for a way to spend the weekend, I highly recommend getting up early and making a day of it.

What’s on your fall bucket list this year?

Don’t miss my Fall Intentions, October Intentions, as well as some of the best pieces I own from Shopbop right here. And you can see fall bucket lists of year’s past here, here, here, and here.
